Meaning of Job Analysis:

It is a analysis of each factor with in a particular job – like steps to be taken to complete a job: time duration, environment & conditions of a job, technology involved, mental & physical efforts needed, level of qualification, expertise & experience; impact of a job on the person involved like psychological and  phsysiological etc.

A job  analysis has several advantages on:

  • Manpower planning.
  • Recruitment, selection.
  • Training and development.
  • Career path planning
  • Performance appraisal
  • Job design.
