Job Evaluation All Explained

Meaning:

Job Evaluation is the procedure for getting monetary worth of a job. In simple terms, it determines the salary structure for a job. Job evaluation may differ from company to company, because different factors have different values to different company. A company which provides security guards may give more value to physique and a company which deals in software development may give more value to mental aptitude and innovations.

Reason for Job Evaluation:

# For making job grades

# For making rationale salary structure

# For setting interconnected relation between jobs.

# For making a connection between a job and organization strategy.

Methods of Job Evaluation:

  • Job Ranking
  • Paired Comparison
  • Job Classification
Analytical (quantitative)
  • Point factor rating ;by  Lott (1924)
  • Factor comparison; by Eugene J. Benge (1926)
