Organization development is the first requirement to any organization, when we understand organization developments three questions stand up: 1. what comes in an organization? 2. Who develop organization?, and 3.how to develop organization?.

Organization consists, lot of things the most common are:

First Category: People, technology, finance, raw material and clients

Second Category: organization structure, culture, work methodology and procedures

Third Category: socialization, gathering, meetings, interests and preferences.

Organization development is the responsibility of top management. There are tools and techniques used in organization development, these tools are:

  • Action research
  • Survey research and,
  • Sensitivity training or Laboratory training

Process of Organization Development

The Diagnostic Phase:

This is the initial phase of diagnosing organization structure, system and processes, to know the actual need of development or change. SWOT Analysis as well as tools like questionnaires, interview and taking feedback can be used.

The Intervention:

Intervention or action plan for development or change comes after the diagnosing .Steps are being taken to solve the identified problems.

Evaluation of development and changes:

To know how much extent organization development has been a successful and producing desired result, evaluation becomes mandatory. Evaluation also helps in mapping of action taken for organization development. Once the actions are mapped it can be used for future purposes.
