Performance appraisal is an assessment of the employees based on their past records.There are various method of performance appraisal.
- Assessment by immediate boss : of course this may work on perception and predisposition, but immediate boss should always be consulted.
- Appraisal by Interview : Teams of expert takes interview to assess his/her capability.
- By checking work records : auditing of his past work by checking work updation , goal achieved and clarity of records.
- Questioners : a set of questions should be asked pertinent to unfinished work, goal achieved, problem and strength area, external causes to good or poor performance etc.
- Video Records : video records of work station should be analyzed.This facility of recording may not be available in every organization. But workstation where private matters does not count should be recorded time to time.
- 360 Degree feedback : feedback from boss, peers, subordinates and external customers.
