The better you will sleep, the more refresh and alive you will feel.

Take a bath before sleeping
Water is a great healer for body and if you put little salt (half or one tea-spoon) in water, it will work much better. If weather is much colder then you can just dry clean yourself.
Calm down your thoughts by meditation
If you know some meditation technique or sadhana – it will immensely help you to calm down your thoughts. If you don’t know it, then don’t worry! Just try to make your breath normal and little deep.
Read few pages of some good book
Don’t read fiction please! Just read those books which inspire, tell the truth and motivate for better life. You can also read any scripture.
Listen soft music of your taste
Music has great connection with the mind and body. It works like a mantra … and in fact one of the most soothing thing in the word.
Burn some incense
When you use incense make sure it is natural – not made by chemical substances. And, windows of the room must be open for fresh air and to make the incense fume go outside.
Turn off the blazing lights
Light does matter a lot; put it at that level which could make your eyes comfortable. Better use night lamp or table lamp of mild soothing light if you are reading something.
Have comfortable clothes
Clothes should be cotton made and comfortable to your body, so that if you twist or turn while sleeping it won’t cause you any problem.
Order your body to sleep well
Body listens to you and even mind, just recollect yourself and order it to sleep well. It may not be possible initially but gradually with consistent efforts your mind and body will follow your order.
