Eight (8) Folds Path of Yoga to Attain Samadhi

They are the eight systematic ways to get Samadhi.

These Eight paths used to be use in Ancient India, but now-a-days it is less popular. Because it is bit difficult path as compared to other meditation techniques.

Here goes Eight (8) Fold Path of Yoga –

1.Yam
It includes controlling and restraining of organs. It is usually painful to the body and gives self suffering to those who love to indulge in senses.

2. Niyama
Niyama is set of rules, or better say a set of guidelines to follow – they are not so easy to follow for a common man.

3. Asana
It is the posture of body, which helps to be healthy and provoke chakras to awaken. In this path a Yogi does number of Asanas.

4. Pranayama
Pranayama is the exercise of the breath, told by the Guru. There are different exercises of breath and a Guru chooses few as per the disciple needs.

5. Pratyahara
Pulling back and controlling mind from unnecessary sense objects is called Pratyahara.

6. Dhyana
It has different connotations to different people, for some people it happens itself and for some people it is done by concentration or doing some meditation technique.

7. Dharana
By drawing senses and mind from external objects and fixing one’s attention on consciousness is called Dharna.

8. Samadhi
When all the seven (7) stages are achieved Samadhi happens itself.
