Upanishads are the source of wisdom and for the true knowledge of liberation; they give instant realization of truth. They never discriminate between an ordinary human being and a God. They never give complex that you are little and God is great.
They say,” The self is God”. And this “self” in beyond the mind and its thoughts – incomprehensible! But this “self” is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient; it is unborn, uncreated, pure and eternal.
Below are the some statements of Upanishads. When we read them, we feel like – Aham Brahmasmi! (I am the God!).
Here it goes –
- The self is Brahma, the self is Vishnu and the self is Shiva. The self is everywhere and in everything; and there is nothing other than the self.
- The self is the witness, it is pure consciousness and ever auspicious.
- The self is non-dual Brahma.
- In self alone, everything is born; in self, everything exists; in self alone, everything dissolves.
- The self is smaller than the smallest, greater than the greatest.
- The self is the ancient and the base of everything.
- The self is incomprehensible energy.
- The self is without limbs.
- The self can see without eyes, can hear without ears and know without the intellect.
- The self is formless but knows everything and everyone knows the self – the ever pure consciousness.
- The self is being taught in Vedas and Scriptures.
- The self is the revealer of Upanishads, Vedantas and of Vedas.
- The self is only the real knower.
- For self, there is no duality: no virtue and no sin.
- The self cannot be destroyed; neither has it birth, nor body, nor senses and mind.
- For self, there is neither earth, nor water, nor fire, nor air nor ether.
These were the statements that a person feels after self-realization. Just reading and thinking about them also unleashes great power from within. And tells how a poor looking human, in fact is a God; but due to layers of illusions and projections of mind s/he suffers and remains apart from the truth.
