I was feeling cold and when I started regulating my breath, my body temperature was increased.
That’s not the fun. Believe it nor not! We can regulate our body temperature, minimize or maximize the way we like.
Here are two exercises, just try them out and later on we’ll understand how it works?
For maximizing body temperature
Take the breath from right nostril; hold the breath while pressing the chest with the chin. And raise your chin from your chest while releasing the breath.
This exercise will spread the solar energy throughout your body and you will feel increased body temperature.
For minimizing body temperature
Take the breath from left nostril; hold the breath while pressing the chest with the chin. And raise your chin from your chest while releasing the breath.
This exercise will spread the lunar energy throughout your body and you will feel minimized body temperature.
How it works?
The right nostril refers to Pingla Nadi and left nostril refers to Ida Nadi. Pingla Nadi is said to be the warmer Nadi, and Ida Nadi is said to be the colder Nadi. Pingla also denotes to the Sun and the Ida denotes to the Moon, which we already know warmer and colder respectively.
Nadis are the flow of the energy or say consciousness. They are 72 thousand in the human body, but the main Nadis are the Ida, Pingla and Susumna.
When we are taking breath from one of the nostril and hold the breath that causes to spread that energy (solar or lunar) throughout the body. Without holding the breath, the spread of particular energy in the body may not possible. Due to the holding of breath that energy does not go back to the nostrils but it finds the ways and thus start flowing in other Nadis.
Warning!
Holding breath depend upon individual strength. Some people can hold for 15-20 seconds and some for 1 minute or even more.
When you hold your breath, hold as per the body needs otherwise it may cause adverse effect.
If you already do Pranayam or have done before then it will be much easier for you. If you don’t know about the Pranayam then better consult from a Teacher before doing the mentioned exercises.
