The name, Patanjali, precedes the word "Yoga," as far as Indian Yoga is concerned. No doubt, the contribution of Patanjali in Yoga was awesome. Please, remember here the word Yoga connotes the things related to pranayam and breath-control. The birth of Patanjali is supposed to around 150 BC, or 200 BC.
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali have eight parts, i.e., Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayam, Pratyahara, Dharana and Samadhi. The Yama refers to Harmlessness, Truth, Non-stealing, celibacy and non-possessiveness; the Niyama refers to cleanliness, satisfaction, austerity, study and surrender; the Asana refers to various postures of the body; the Pranayam refers to the breath control and exercise; the Pratyahara refers to withdrawal of senses from the sense objects; the Dharana refers to maintain the concentration of the mind; the Dhyana refers to continuous control over the thoughts; the Samadhi refers to the highest state of Yoga, where one gets all the answers of life.

His public reputation is said to be started since he represented Hinduism at Chicago’s Parliament of Religions in 1893, he was one of the key disciples of famous Guru Ramakrishna Paramhamsa, he also established Ramakrishna mission for spiritual awakening.
Swami Vivekananda is said to be born in January, 1863, Calcutta, and his physical death in July, 1902; he lived for 39 years, and left an unforgettable memory of his messages. Mother Meera is said to be the avatar of Divine Mother (Shakti). When she was asked about her work, she replied," First of all, I bring down the Light and establish Peace; also, I help the people to surrender to the Divine, to remember the Divine and to be faithful and sincere to their religion or to their belief. I help people to be happy in their families."
It is said at the age of six, she had her first Samadhi that lasted for the whole day. Currently, she gives darshan to people in silence, and help people to clear their energy blockage by her divine grace – for making their spiritual progress much easier. Rumi is the short name for Jalāl ad-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī, a sufi mystic with full of wisdom and extra ordinary sense of understanding, who looked everything with spiritual aspects and beyond limitations.
Poetry (spiritual), music (spiritual) and dance (sufi whirling dervishes) were the main theme of his teachings, he used "Allah," the God, as a "lover" in his poems. You can look his biography at Wikipedia (link), but Guru wants you to check some of his poems in both text and video.

The word "Mahavira," means great hero, he was born to King Siddartha and Queen Trishala and was known as "Vardhaman," but due to his extraordinary efforts, he was called — Mahavira. His physical life span is supposed to spread between 599BC to 527BC, and he was known with various names like: Vira, Viraprabhu, Sanmati, Ativira and Gnatputra, etc.
He lived as a prince, but around the age of thirty (30), in search of truth, he gave up everything, his kingdom, family and even to his clothes also, and started meditating and searching truth, by following various practices, e.g., mainly of harmlessness to everything. And, later on he got what he was seeking for.
He was Dr.Richard Alpert, until he came in contact with Guru Neem Karoli Baba, the name "Ram Das" was given by his Guru.
He is said to born in a Jewish family, in Newton, Massachusetts, and earned Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University, Master’s from Wesleyan University and Doctorate (in psychology) from Stanford University. Around 1967, he travelled to India, and while going temple to temple and learning mantras and Vedas, he happened to meet with Guru Neem Karoli Baba, and became his disciple.

The word "Dalai" means Ocean and "Lama" means a Guru, a Teacher or a Priest. So the "Dalai Lama" is title for a spiritual person, dedicated to spiritual awareness and well being of the entire humanity.
His Holiness, Tenzin Gyatso (full name: Jetsun Jamphel Ngawang Lobsang Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso) is the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. Both "Tao Te Ching" (link) and "the Secret of Golden Flower" (link) are master pieces, every spiritual seeker "must" read them. The birth and death of Lao Tsu are unknown; he was the mystic of ancient china, a great person who ever born, the Taoism (or say, Daoism) is just due to him.
Guru would like you to read his master pieces, if you love Bible or Bhagavada Gita, you’d also love them. The Pdf of Tao Te Ching is floating on the net, I think you can download it for free. Guru also wrote on the secret of Golden flower, but it is advisable to buy a well translated book.
