Changing deep rooted bad habits

Dig the roots: find out, 1. Why did those habits come in your life? 2. What did you do to nourish them, and making them part of your life?

Calculate the advantage: find out, 1. How much those habits did contribute in your personal and social life? 2. Did they make you worse or better? 3. Satisfaction and dissatisfaction with them?

Key points: unless one feels unhappy and dissatisfied with the bad habit/s, one can’t leave them. Increase the unhappiness and dissatisfaction by calculating and remembering the disadvantages. This doesn’t mean to feel guilt, but to acknowledge intensely one was on the wrong path, and now it’s time to change it. That’s it!

Learn that: all the habits good or bad can be acquired and left, the person who indulges in those habits is separate from them, he ever has a chance to leave them any time. A habit becomes yours when you get identified with it, the moment you get dis-identified with it from your heart and soul, you just leave that habit, instantly!

Do this: there are hundreds of good habits suits to different personalities. If someone can play the game of acquiring and leaving the good habits, and later on choosing few which satisfy his “being.” This will produce immense will power (power over habits) and self-worth. As well personal and social growth.
