When a healthy Swami is begging for food, ordinary mind thinks, “Why doesn’t he earn money working out something?” This is the common thought!

Of course he can! He can earn money!

But the secret behind “begging alms” is to “kill ego.” This is the common practice on certain path to kill ego this way. No wonder a begging man (specially healthy!) is often insulted, the day he leaves being insulted, the purpose is over! Ego is killed! No more begging! Thus, there is a vast difference between the people: one who begs to kill ego, and one who begs for just begging, the later ones remains beggar the whole life, and the former ones ascends to divinity!
