Hindus worship number of Devis, Guru is talking about a particular Devi, who kills "unworthy desires." A single word makes lots of difference, specially … when for it we talk about Gyan(Gnan)Yog and Bhakti Yog. In Bhakti Yog, it is said: Devi had fight with number of demons, and demons were too strong … too powerful, e.g., if a single drop of their blood falls on the ground, another demon appears to fight against Devi, and so on; but, eventually, Devi killed all the demons, in most heroic acts: she put the demons in her mouth, chew them up and eat them up.

For a while, if we look at the nature of our "desire," take single desire for a moment; you notice a single desire is ramified in hundreds and millions of desires, because by nature a desire is dependent, and this dependency goes on and on. And, a Devi, is an energy, an awareness of our own self, when we put our awareness at our desires, the Devi starts killing the demons. The more we use our "awareness" the more demons are killed.

The scriptures which say "Aham Brahmasmi," or "I am that", or "You are that," do not mean any physical location to meditate upon, when the phrase "the cave of the heart" comes.

What do you think? Guru feels, "the cave of the heart" refers to be just "here and now," in the present moment, that is eternity itself, and everything happens in this eternity. The "here and now" is very auspicious, all the awakening happens in this moment. And, it will not lead something into past and something into future; it will put you as you are, in the most potent form.

When a person starts meditation, whatever type of it maybe, he starts getting aware about his thought patterns, all his tendencies and blockages of the mind start waking up … and he feels uncomfortable, anxious and sad. Guru says, this is cleaning, all the dirt of your mind, are coming to the surface … let it come and disappear.

With meditation the unconscious tendencies of the mind are triggered, meditation in itself is the process of cleaning; initially, you need to do the meditation, you need to make effort to clean the garbage, and when the garbage is cleaned, the meditation happens itself, no need of doing it, meditation becomes the way of life.

Why it is important to clean the garbage?

Somebody asks these two questions to Guru. And, Guru says "nice questions!" Well, first, you need to ask yourself and not from the Guru – these are fundamental questions of life, if you are serious about them. They can change your life, for sure!

For a spiritual seeker, the self answers for self generated questions may be like:

"I want to know that exists outside the limitations and prejudices of my own mind. I want to know why I’m being caught every-time in the hand of my mind. I want to know the existence beyond and inside my body that operates it. There are these similar types of things that I want to know from meditation."

Guru says, you get what you seek for, if you call yourself a spiritual seeker and looking for business contacts, opposite sex, money and property – then how can you get the true benefit of meditation, maybe, you call yourself a spiritual seeker, but you are a seeker of the matter. This is quite contradictory that a person who goes for matter, can’t be spiritual he only indulges in sex, anger, greed, attachment & jealousy, and a person who is spiritual, matters follow him like anything.

You refuse or believe, but the reality won’t change – yes, the outer world is the projection of your inner world. But, you can’t turn an elephant into a rat or a sun into moon by your inner projection. When it is said "refuse to believe," it is said to your "negative, wasteful and incomplete thoughts" which eat away "you" out of your life. Reality doesn’t change, illusions can be modified.

Guru says, to know "the incomplete and wasteful thought" is the first step, before refusing to believe on them – otherwise, things won’t work. Negative thoughts have negative energies, and the wasteful thoughts have the energies of confusion, chaos and complexities.

The advantages of refusing to believe on negative and wasteful thoughts will be:

A car hit a person, he got injured, he was a beggar looking person…perhaps no money to treat the injury; he asked the car owner for some money – he was insulted again. The beggar closed his eyes and in deep agony cursed the man that man got down and fell dead.

I don’t know how much true this story is, this came to me through a lot of people, and I think some ingredients might be changed, and I don’t know the place, the person, the location and when it happened, I just caught this story to discuss something.

Our feelings and emotions have immense power, and we can use them to curse somebody or to bless somebody – and it works. Incase when we hurt a person intentionally with no reason at all (may be for fun) the consequences maybe anything, if he is a bad man, whole life he will curse you (if luckily a good man, he will forgive you).

It doesn’t mean you get blackmailed like a kind woman , she used to give money and things to saint looking fraud people, who used to come at her door-steps, when I asked her why she does so, she replied she is afraid of curse. Well, this is totally manipulating, someday, this woman might curse the people (maybe slightly) who make her learned this false teaching, and due to this, she got robbed most of the time.

Coming thoughts in meditation is natural, don’t fight with them, and don’t try to stop them. We do meditation to solve the thoughts and to set them free from the mind. If the thoughts are coming, let them come – they will come as in boiling water all the impurities come at surface. So getting over with thoughts doesn’t mean to fight with them – it means, to realize them, understand them and let them go!

Thoughts come in variety of forms, some thoughts comes "intermittently" and go away, some thoughts are "fixed" don’t go away and some totally "unrelated" thoughts come intermittently or in fixed form to which we think why they are coming – we never did this and we never met with these kinds of people, places and situations.

We just knew three types of thoughts, but it is better not to give them any label because it will create another thought, isn’t it? So, the problem is how to go beyond thoughts by solving them.

There are solutions that we can consider:

The problem is with the words, sentences, and the language we speak. Actually, it has constraints; it has limitations. And the enlightened people have something which is beyond the mind. That’s why Gautama Buddha became silent, and his way of communication most of the time was only with "silence," with thoughtlessness.

Once, when I was studying about Gautama Buddha, I happened to have few books written for Buddha with me. Now, I can’t recall who was the author and who was the publisher, but the books were thick and were looking like some scriptures.

It was my early age in spirituality, and I remained confused for many weeks after reading those books, and I don’t know where I’ve thrown them out.

What disturbed me specially was that — the author was insisting on the 36 qualities of being a Buddha (to get self realization). He was mentioning, that teeth should be 32, chest should be like a Lion and the palm of feet should be flat and lots of physical signs and conditions. Then, I thought I can’t be enlightened because I just have 3-4 qualities not the complete 36 qualities. Later on I realized that Buddhahood needs no condition, and then I threw those books.

It is said, the food, even it is "vegetarian" food, if it doesn’t have life force energy – one shouldn’t eat it. In, Bhagavad Gita, the great Scripture, there is lot of stress on "fresh food," almost a chapter is dedicated to eating habits.

I’m not saying which food is good or bad, I’m just telling in terms of energy. The food which doesn’t have positive life force energy – isn’t worth eating.

I personally put Cow’s milk to non-veg food (no objection please), but it doesn’t harm because it has positive life force energy, and it is considered good for health around the world.
