That is 2 hours 40 minutes, 10% of 24 hours. This is some secret amount of time, I think, lesser number of people are able to meditate 2.40 hours in one sitting. They are mostly told 1 hour per sitting.

As water doesn’t boil below 100°C, 2.40 hours are somewhere true to get the divine qualities in life. The great spiritual people meditate, meditate very regularly; 2-3 hours of meditation is just the part of their lives. The spiritual people who are flourishing these days also have done intensive meditation regularly, and still they never leave it.

Isn’t it that 2.40 hours of time is that which we truly dedicate to ourselves? Otherwise totally lost and decay our mental, emotional and physical energy — in this and that of the world.

If anybody chooses to meditate for 2.40 hours regularly. The time from 4 am to 6. 40 am may be a good option for them.

Once a man, a spiritual man told me the time 10.00 pm to 2.00 am is not good. I nodded and thought he was right, as he shared with me his intuitive stories and other miracles. Soon after from a well-built religious group I got to know the time 10.00 pm to 1.00 am is not good, as they used to get up at 1.30 am for preparing and doing early morning meditation. My childhood beliefs as my parents told me were that since 3.00 am the good time starts, and bad time from 11.00 pm to 2.30 am, somewhere. Recently someone told me from 12.00 am to 4.am, it is the bad time – the good time starts after 4.00 am.

If anybody believes in all of them, anybody can be confused, easily.

Isn’t it that we give power to whatever we believe in and it controls us by manifesting itself the good or bad way we want it?

One side we say that God is omnipresent but other-side we say this time is good and that time is bad – aren’t we splitting our consciousness and causing it to fall down? Other thing is: meditation is supposed to raise the vibration and energy then aren’t we more protective with that?

Guru says, you can’t understand a spiritual Guru with your mind. A Guru never exists in his physical body, words, audio and video – even, he communicates through them. But, he doesn’t live in those things, even in his body. He is with unlimited, he has reached to unlimited. And, when you say, you have certain "copyright" over your Guru; you may get a hard slap! A spiritual Guru belongs to every seeker; he is not limited in anyway.

His work is to transform you, if you seek – you will be transformed. And he never wants if you get stuck with his body, image or anything. If you are stuck with his body then he will be helpless to give you all the things which exist beyond the body.

Gautama Buddha used to say to his disciples "If I come in your meditation, immediately cut off my head. Don’t cling to me; otherwise I will become a barrier." Buddha was correct; he knew all the tricks of mind that a seeker faces in his spiritual path.

Somebody asks these two questions to Guru. And, Guru says "nice questions!" Well, first, you need to ask yourself and not from the Guru – these are fundamental questions of life, if you are serious about them. They can change your life, for sure!

For a spiritual seeker, the self answers for self generated questions may be like:

"I want to know that exists outside the limitations and prejudices of my own mind. I want to know why I’m being caught every-time in the hand of my mind. I want to know the existence beyond and inside my body that operates it. There are these similar types of things that I want to know from meditation."

Guru says, you get what you seek for, if you call yourself a spiritual seeker and looking for business contacts, opposite sex, money and property – then how can you get the true benefit of meditation, maybe, you call yourself a spiritual seeker, but you are a seeker of the matter. This is quite contradictory that a person who goes for matter, can’t be spiritual he only indulges in sex, anger, greed, attachment & jealousy, and a person who is spiritual, matters follow him like anything.

Sadhu is a person who follows the path of God realization thru self realization. A Sadhu can be called as Sanyasi, Baba, or Mahatma – these are spiritual words, the word Baba can be used in spiritual or in normal course of life. If, Guru says, Deepak Chopra is a Sadhu, you might get shocked that he doesn’t live in cave and doesn’t have long beard and red dress.

A Sadhu can have red dress & long beard, but this is not the main requirement to call as a Sadhu, this is exterior. A Sadhu can be with or without a particular dress; the path, where Sadhu moves on and on, belongs to self-transformation thru the practice of Yoga, Meditation (Dhyan), Mantra, Ritual, Scriptures and various things.

Sadhus and Begging

Guru has met to some Sadhus (who wear red clothes and live in secluded places), and finds: due to lack of money they remain hungry for several days – unless somebody gives them something to eat. Generally, Sadhus don’t beg money, but due to lack of it, they go through excruciating physical sufferings.

There are lots of violent foods that we keep on taking, and they are more dangerous than the non-vegetarian foods.

They are:
The food for heart.
The food for mind.

One type of food is emotions and second type of food is thoughts. If they are uncontrolled – vegetarian food also can’t save us; we are bound to get disturbed from tail to head.

They are energies:
Emotions and thoughts are energies and if they are positive, pure and in control – they help substantially in meditation.

But, most of the time, we don’t care about what we are feeling and what we are thinking. Because, we think we are "vegetarian," read scripture and follow a Guru, and everything will be good with us, it can’t! Unless, the emotions and thoughts don’t become proper. Apart from downfall of the character, all the mental and physical diseases happen just due to uncontrolled thoughts and emotions. Avadhoot Baba Shivananda of Shiv Yog says "Emotions of fear affects the lungs and stomach, anger affects the heart and resentment effects the kidneys" – these are just example of few. The real harms uncontrolled thoughts and emotions do is, they never let us improve our conscious level, and we remain kind of animal, whole life.

Just a month ago a girl wrote me, when she woke up from the sleep; she was able to see everything with the closed eyes. And a Metaphysician clarifies if a person sleeps with lower consciousness; unconsciously, he might do astral-travel in lower dimensions and can meet with strange looking creatures or can see the bad dreams.

The girl who felt miraculous experience was at high consciousness, somehow. And the people who see bad dreams are with lower consciousness because with higher consciousness the bad dreams or astral travel to lower dimension isn’t possible.

The Upanishads say, we have the astral body and it works with the thoughts, and during sleep when the conscious control over the physical body subsides, the astral body starts working according to the thoughts; if thoughts are positive and strong, we can see positive dreams; if they are negative, we can see negative dreams.

If you like dancing, or want to dance – this might be the most suitable meditation technique for you. This is one of the active (dynamic) meditations.

This meditation has four stages of 60 minutes, divided into 15 minutes each. And I think you will enjoy this technique. Not only this meditation helps in spiritual progress but it also helps in better blood circulation and gives a better physical relaxation at the cellular level.

First Step
It starts with "shaking" the body, better to stand on feet and start shaking the body starting from the feet and slowly-slowly covering the whole body. It is said not to control the shaking but allow it to happen itself and let the shaking and trembling penetrate deep into the body.

Second Step
This step is of free expression, if you feel like dancing then dance, or, if feel like smiling or laughing then do it – freely and easily.

This is the second part for better sleep. Hope, you have read two earlier articles "problems due to lack of sleep (link)," and "Mantra, a good way for better sleep (link)."

In witnessing meditation, we don’t use any mantra (like we did) or any visualization (we’ll do in next), this alone is powerful.

Know your breath first

Breath is connected to our thoughts; whenever thoughts change, breaths also change; whenever breaths change, thoughts also change. There is connection between them; both are dependent on each other.

You needn’t control anything

Well, no Guru is going to tell you, if you ask this question to some Guru’s followers, maybe you would be beaten badly and abused harshly. Keep safe, don’t ask, but there are ways to know whether your Guru is fraud or not.

The problem isn’t in a fraud or true Gurus. They are like a web-URL, and its depends upon you what kind of URL you are logged in, what kind of sites you are watching, as there are every kinds of sites, you just needs to make your interest and site is available. I never say if any Guru is bad, but, we need to find it out, what we are looking for?

Ask yourself what you are looking for

This is crucial to know, what kind of achievements from a Guru you are looking for, maybe, a Guru helps you to materialize the great money, but not the enlightenment, or vice-versa. Maybe, a Guru helps you to attract a life partner but not the values or qualities of life or vice-versa. Maybe, you are looking all the solutions of life from money, honey…till enlightenment in a single Guru. Maybe, you are too prejudiced and too conditioned and more religious rather than spiritual…whatever! Just make a list what are you looking for, write it down somewhere in a piece of paper, it will clarify everything for you.
