I assume that we don’t have sound-proof room and don’t use some plugs into our ears. This is the problem with most of us, when we can’t go in the Jungle for meditation and get disturbed with the noise of vehicles, or due to some sound tracks playing nearby, or with the talks of family members – or with the mix of three of them.
What happens is that we get irritated, and leave doing meditation but this is not the solution. Isn’t it? The solution is "don’t resist" if the noise is coming let it come; if somebody is talking nearby, let them talk – the problem only comes when we resist and complain. Otherwise there is disturbance but not the problem. Accept the disturbance and be with it, but keep on doing meditation.
A self made person is one who hears the voice of his soul and follows it. Below are some qualities of self made persons that I think are found commonly in self made men. Have a look of them, I selected only six.

Self-guidance
A self made person hears the voice of his soul, whenever he gets some problem in life, he introspects himself and tries to find out the solution; his inner voice guides him. Even he asks from others, but his decisions are not influenced.
Self-motivation
He is not dependent on anybody for motivation; he remains unaffected from praise and abuses. He, himself is the source of motivation and de-motivation.
Self-caring
He takes care of his physical, emotional and mental needs; he is independent and does best take care of himself, because it gives him the strength to work efficiently.
Coming straight to the point, we’ll talk about only three things here "thoughts, actions and emotions" to avoid bad karmas.
It is said that bad karmas are created due to: sex, anger, greed, attachment, and jealousy; even, minute thinking about them can cause to creation of karmas. But, it is impossible to stop thinking of these "five vices," and "driven actions" out of them – all of a sudden. Be practical! We each can understand ourselves on the path of improvement; let’s go step by step to avoid bad karmas, if you have any problem in any step do let me know.
Stop bad actions first, let the thinking continue
At first attempt it’s hard to stop the both together (if you can, then, it’s good), both are habitual; the actions work in gross form and thinking works in subtle form. It’ll be easier to stop the grosser element first. We can stop bad actions irrespective what we think. When we are able to stop bad actions, then we can work on thoughts in much better way. This step is just for stopping bad actions not the thoughts. We assume after the practice for a week or many weeks (as you feel comfortable), our bad actions are stopped and only bad thoughts remains.
Stop bad thinking second, let the emotions continue
…and save money also!
With full of stomach and full of sleep you are unproductive and inefficient. Both food & sleep are sister & brother, and they won’t leave you. Don’t worry! I’m not making you hungry and sleepless.
See, most of the people suffer in their efficiency because they eat a lot. Eat a lot is fine when it is Sunday and no work to do, but as far as increasing efficiency and productivity is concerned, you need to eat according to your work.
Mental work: it doesn’t require much calories, eat moderately.
Physical work: I hope, whosoever read this doesn’t do labor work. Here, for physical work, I mean physical movement like talking to clients, taking classes, going for inspection etc., not like mental work of computer programming, designing or writing something. People of physical work can eat more than the people of mental work.
How to eat less?
Before eating just think what are you going to do after it, and what the impact more or less eating can have at your work? And what the dreams and desires are associated with your work. Once you acknowledge your desires and dreams associated with your work, and think the impact of eating on your work, eating habits will be regulated automatically.
It doesn’t take more than a minute, if it takes more than that, it can’t open…
But, to prepare for that auspicious "one minute," we need to do the following things, otherwise it would be like to give a Gun in the hand of a child, as the people and spiritual books say "third eye has the immense power, when it opens a man can do lots of meta-physical and psychic things and he is free from the cycle of birth and death."
I heard once from one of the female spiritual Gurus that divine powers only come to those who become harmless to everyone. Harmless means a person is unable to misuse the power to harm someone because he is so kind and well understood inside.
This is simple tip, but it helps a lot when we are tired, or want to make relax any organ of the body. If you have some physical problems or are pregnant – better not to do this, even certain areas of body can be escaped but it is wiser to consult the physician first. This exercise for relaxing the body is for those who are physically fit, but want relaxation to the body and its organs.
Before going ahead, I’d like to make you count few disadvantages of tired and tensed body, which look me most prominent:
Making body calm and relaxed

Good visualization helps, because our thoughts – that don’t let us sleep also come from visualization (and imagination). Through a good visualization we can comfort our thoughts, and that leads us to sleep. Some people are very prejudiced: some think mantra is good, some think witnessing meditation is good, and some think visualization is good. True! But, all are good; if one understands and experience them – one would be more resourceful. Anyway, now talk about how to use visualization for better sleep.
Using visualization
This is the second part for better sleep. Hope, you have read two earlier articles "problems due to lack of sleep (link)," and "Mantra, a good way for better sleep (link)."
In witnessing meditation, we don’t use any mantra (like we did) or any visualization (we’ll do in next), this alone is powerful.
Know your breath first
Breath is connected to our thoughts; whenever thoughts change, breaths also change; whenever breaths change, thoughts also change. There is connection between them; both are dependent on each other.
You needn’t control anything

There are three ways for better sleep: first, by using mantra; second, by using meditation; third, by using visualization. Obviously, in normal life, somehow, you are unable to sleep (or someone close to you). That’s why you are reading this, otherwise no need of mantra, meditation or visualization for sleeping.
